DSC01462Shannon fell in love with these invitations from Lucky Luxe that had a great feeling of the Belle Epoque.  We decided to print them at home using our home-made letterpress and they turned out great. You may notice small unique variations in printing showing that each piece of paper was inked and put through the press individually.

Printing platesWe learned a lot about inking the plates correctly and making them look good.  One trick is to use some sort of border or mask around the plates when you ink them to keep the brayer from inking the background of the paper.

Each color had to be inked separately, of course.  The alignment of the printing plates had to be perfect, but after a bit of practice, she got it working well.DSC01456
