The goal of these scripts is to allow the user to easily create dvds from groups of pictures, sometimes from a directory, and sometimes from an online photo album. Then, you can add fancy effects like crossfading, titles, and the Kenburns effect (slowly zooming and panning at the same time) along with audio to make your slideshows even nicer. All I get for releasing this code to the public is a little gratification from the thought that I can make life better for fellow linux folks who have given me so much. So PLEASE send me an e-mail with your comments or thanks if you like my code: scott at dylewski dot com Documentation dvd-slideshow This is the main script. It generates a DVD-compatible MPEG2 video file with audio from a text file input listing of pictures and effects. dvd-menu Creates a simple DVD menu with buttons that link to MPEG2 files generated with dvd-slideshow or ones that you have created yourself. dir2slideshow Generates a dvd-slideshow input file from a directory full of pictures. You can sort by picture taken time if you want. gallery1-to-slideshow Instead of a GUI to create slideshows, I already have almost everything set up from my web page that uses the original version of Gallery (http://gallery.sourceforge.net) program. This is a simple script to create an input file for dvd-slideshow from a single specified gallery album. Note that this does not work on gallery version 2 albums! For version 2 compatibility, check out the excellent project at the bottom of the page. jigl2slideshow Contributed by Scott Merrill <skippy at skippy.net>. Does the same thing as gallery1-to-slideshow, but works on a jigl gallery (http://xome.net/projects/jigl/ ) Recommended additions to dvd-slideshow: Slideshow Creator
